The YWCA Children’s Center will host a pasta fundraiser Thursday.
The “Ooodles of Noodles” fundraiser will benefit the YWCA Children’s Center’s Lyons campus. Dine-in will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rastrelli’s Tuscany room. Carry-outs will be available from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The event is open to all community members. Funds raised will be used to purchase equipment for the new north-end childcare center.
The new YWCA Children’s Center Lyons campus will be located in the former Horace Mann facility that is currently under construction and scheduled to open in the fall.
The facility will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
A waiting list is available for parents interested in reserving a spot.
The center will be housed on the west side of the first floor in the new Human Services campus located at the old Horace Mann School. This campus is being developed by New Directions.
Plans for the children’s center include classrooms designed specifically to fit the needs of infants and young children, as well as two large, fenced-in playgrounds, including privacy fencing and security features.
