Timber Lake Playhouse will host a special production to cap off its 50th anniversary season.
The Late Nite Catechism series, “Til’ Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3,” will be back for 12 performances, starting Aug. 25 and running through Sept. 4.
This interactive comedy is one of the longest running shows in Chicago and U.S. theater history.
After teaching countless audiences all about the saints, venial sins, guilt, limbo and more, the main character, Sister, offers up lessons on the sacraments of marriage and last rites, including her own version of the Newlywed Game.
Participation from the audience is encouraged. Special guest actress, Mary Zentmyer, will portray Sister. She has taught Catechisms off broadway in New York and for several years at the Ivanhoe Theatre in Chicago.
Tickets for “Til’ Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3” are $20 and are available online at www.timberlakeplayhouse.org or by calling the box office, which is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, at (815) 244-2035.
Timber Lake Playhouse also has tickets available for the 2012 season. The lineup includes “Guys and Dolls,” “Working — The Musical,” “Footloose,” “Boeing Boeing,” “Cabaret,” and “Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.”
