Clinton business Richard’s Auto Repair was able to provide vehicles for governmental use during the President’s recent visit to Iowa. The business was contacted by the Budget Truck corporate offices on Aug. 11 to provide Budget trucks for the White House Communications Agency to use in Decorah.
Richard’s Auto Repair provided the trucks and also transferred them to Decorah. Participating drivers were Richard and Cynthia Pederson and Ed and Steve Brown. In appreciation, Richard’s Auto Repair was issued a certificate signed by Bryan Lawson, presidential communications spokesman. The certificate reads, “The members of the White House Communications Agency wish to express our sincere appreciation for the outstanding manner in which you provided support to the President of the United States during his visit to Decorah. Your efforts, coupled with your superb attitude and impeccable professionalism, enabled us to provide critical communications for the President, the White House Staff and the United States Secret Service.”
The group returned to Decorah on Aug. 17 to retrieve the trucks.
