Mark Misiewicz, 23, of Clinton, is happy to be back home and working at the Clinton Herald.
Mark was born and raised in Clinton. Growing up, he was always interested in art.
When he first started considering college, he thought about pursuing a degree in fine arts in painting or illustration. Eventually he decided that graphic design would lead to more opportunities. Mark attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., receiving a bachelor of fine arts in visual communication for graphic design.
After college, Mark took an internship with the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City, Mo. He worked as an assistant graphic designer, making a lot of posters, advertisements, website advertisements and merchandise. When his internship ended in the middle of September, he moved back to Clinton to stay with his parents.
Mark said his family has been very supportive. He said his parents tease him about how much laundry there is to do and how much more food they have to buy now that he is back. However, he knows they are glad to have him back. Mark also has an older sister.
Mark just finished his second week at the Herald. He said he likes the people he works with. He also enjoys working with the advertisements, especially when he is allowed to use his creativity. He said he hopes to gain a lot of experience from working at the Herald.
In his free time, Mark likes to listen to music and hang out with friends. He is also very interested in sports. He played basketball in college and also enjoys golf.
