The Whiteside County Fair is preparing for its 141st year being held at the fairgrounds in Morrison.

The fair kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 16, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 20.

The evening grandstand entertainment begins Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m. with the demolition derby. The entertainment continues with Next-Level pro bull riding at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Draft horse hitches and speed events return Thursday, Aug. 18, after the twilight harness racing at 5 p.m. Five classes of tractors and trucks will embark on the grandstand at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19. The fair will end with another demolition derby at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Also, on Saturday, there will be the inaugural Illinois Lawn Mower Association races in front of the grandstand at 1 p.m.

Daily free events include the Grandpa Crachet shows and children’s bicycle giveaways. The children’s pedal pulls return at 2 p.m. Tuesday and at 11 a.m. Saturday with six divisions for children ages 4 through 12. A Loghogger’s Chainsaw Carving will be featured every day at the fair.

A carnival will also be available daily at the fair.
