The YWCA is currently taking registrations for its after-school programs.
The YWCA after-school and Wednesdays at the YW programs for children in kindergarten through fifth grades are still open to residents.
The after-school program offers care from 3 to 5:30 p.m. daily. This year the focus will be on health and wellness. Children will learn about different aspects of good health including physical activity, self esteem and social activities. Children are provided daily homework time, as well as opportunities for free-choice activities.
Cost for the after-school program is $25 per week for YWCA members and $30 for non-members. Fees must be pre-paid and second party funding is accepted. Transportation to the YWCA must be arranged with the Clinton Community School District by calling the transportation department at 243-4441.
Wednesdays at the YW will begin this Wednesday and run from 1 to 5:30 p.m. The cost for this program is $25 per month or $200 for the school year per child. Wednesdays at the YW care is included in the fees for full week after-school programming.
This year both programs will begin at the YWCA downtown location at 317 Seventh Ave. South. For the first six weeks, participants will have the opportunity to swim every Wednesday, so parents are asked to send a suit and towel with their child.
Registration forms are available at the YWCA front desk, as well as online at www.ywcaclinton.org. For more information, call YWCA Youth Director Janna Linville at (563) 212-4001.
