Did you come to Clinton for your new position at Brown’s?

I did. I originally started in Des Moines at our Ankeny store and I started part time and just fell in love with the business, I was going to school for small business management so it fit perfectly with what I wanted to do. We have a store down in College Station, Texas so they shipped me down there to train more and give me a little more experience.

Have you had a chance to explore Clinton?

I haven’t really been able to dig deep into Clinton yet, I’ve just kind of driven around. I devoted a lot of my time to the store. It’s gone to the point where I’m just now comfortable with the store where I can go out and start inviting people in. When I got here it wasn’t where I wanted it to be.

What is your favorite pair of shoes?

Personally, I’ve been liking New Balance and Clarks lately as far as brands go. I don’t really have any favorites, if I like it I’ll get it. I don’t want to say I have a shoe problem but I have a lot of shoes.

Are you reading anything at the moment?

Actually, a lot of books by Entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. He’s just kind of a self-made man. If you want some motivation on a Monday morning go listen to one of his podcasts.

What are some guilty pleasure television shows that you watch?

“Rick and Morty” or “Bob’s Burgers,” that’s kind of my humor. Otherwise, “Gotham,” I’m kind of the Batman nerd.

What are you doing on the weekends when you’re not working?

I like to fish. Otherwise, I’ll just hang out with friends. My buddy actually owns a store in Freeport, Illinois. I still have to find a church but Sundays usually I go to church. Usually I like to go find places to eat. I’ve asked a lot of people for their recommendations so I’ve got a good list of restaurants to try.
