Clinton man charged with drug, weapons offenses

FULTON, Ill. — A Clinton man has been charged with drug and weapons offenses as the result of a traffic stop in Fulton on Thursday.

According to Fulton police, William E.J. Kohl, was charged with unlawful possession of 5 to 15 grams of methamphetamine, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, false or secret compartment in a vehicle and unlawful display of a license plate. The traffic stop happened in the 600 block of 15th Avenue.

He was transported to the Whiteside County Jail in Morrison, Illinois. During his initial court appearance, bond was set at $50,000.

The incident remains under investigation.
