CLINTON — The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center is sharing warm and fuzzy feelings with fun Valentine activities. Enjoy a yummy Valentine Bingo game on WOW Wednesday. Enjoy some bee-utiful crafts and activities on Funtime Friday.
The fourth annual Family Valentine Party is Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Stop by for Miss Jean’s logic games on Sunday.
Every one of these activities on each day is a free enrichment program with regular museum admission or membership.
The Discovery Center has started the New Year with new hours, now being open until 5 p.m. to allow families more time to play together, especially after school. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. is WOW Wednesday, sponsored by US Bank. Also on Wednesdays is chess, juggling and logic puzzles with Miss Jean. All ages and abilities are welcome. Come enjoy a rousing game of Valentine Bingo, complete with game, treats and prizes. WOW Wednesday is geared for school-aged kids and their families. Families are invited to drop in and enjoy the activities, and no pre-registration required.
Friday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. is Funtime Friday, sponsored by the Clinton Kiwanis Club. A Bee My Valentine program will be offered with a special story, as children craft their very own Valentine card. As always, a snack is included. This favorite program is designed for preschoolers and their grown-ups, although all age children are welcome.
Saturday, Feb. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m., get ready for the fourth annual Family Valentine Party. The children’s museum will be partnering with another local non-profit, the Clinton Humane Society. Humane Society director Jen Gerdes will be bringing along furry adoptable friends for everyone to meet. Other special guests include Miss Pam and her therapy dog Pet Paul. Guests will be able to enjoy Valentine cookie decorating and eating. Two art activities include making Valentine cards for loved ones and making a paper flower bouquet. There also will be a collection of fun games and a face-painting artist will be on duty.
Sundays with Miss Jean, every second Sunday of the month, will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 11. Join her for chess, juggling and logic puzzles. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Regular admission to the Discovery Center is $4 per person ages 2 to 64, $3 per person ages 65 and older, free for children one and younger, and free for members of the children’s museum. Hours are Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays 12:30 to 5 p.m.
