City to remove assessor's office

CLINTON — A Clinton juvenile charged with a felony weapons charge admitted to shooting a male earlier this week, according to court documents.

David A. Baldridge, 17, 557 Sixth Ave. South, No. 2, is charged with dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a felon, a class D felony. Attorney John Kies is appointed to represent Baldridge. A preliminary hearing is set for 8:30 a.m. June 15.

According to the affidavit, at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to 507 Fourth Ave. South in reference to a person being shot. An officer arrived and identified the alleged victim. The alleged victim stated he was shot by an individual he knew as David. The male also told the office David's last name started with the letter B. Baldridge was identified as the person who shot the male based on this information and information from witnesses.

Baldridge was not located at the scene.

The affidavit states at approximately 7:30 a.m. June 6, Baldridge came to the police department with his father. Baldridge during an interview admitted he was carrying a loaded handgun while he was at 507 Fourth Ave. South. Baldridge described how he kept the gun tucked in his waistband on the inside of his pants. Baldridge stated the handgun had an extended magazine. He stated he carried the gun because of his fear for the people that hang out at 507 Fourth Ave. South. Baldridge admitted to shooting the male.
