Church set to host party

CLINTON — The Missions Board of the First Congregational Church is hosting an “Extraordinary Valentine’s Party” on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

This free event is designed for the youths of the Clinton area. Party activities include a visit from “everyone’s favorite snowman” as well as two Valentine pigs, Frank Swinatra and Annie Oinkly. It will also feature games, great prizes, and crafts, and children will have the opportunity to decorate their own Valentine’s cookie.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. The church is located at 700 N. Bluff Blvd, Clinton. Parking is located behind the church.

Boat Club Bridge scores

CLINTON — The Bridge scores from Feb. 2 Boat Club Bridge play are: first place, Jan Wede and Kathy Lorensen, 5,300; second, Lona and Wylie Pillers, 4,620; third, Kasu Rickertsen and Mary Duhr, 4,590; fourth, Pat Miller and Jim Carey, 3,540; fifth, Peg and Mike Wolf, 3,450; sixth, Rosemary Haack and Millie Haack, 3,350; seventh, Carol Hill and Geneene Pals, 3,190; and eighth, Joan Muhs and Martha Hayes, 3,090.

The next meeting of the bridge group will be Feb.16 at The Corner Deli.

Pancake supper set for Tuesday

CLINTON — The CWO of Chancy Lutheran will host its annual pancake supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce, fruit toppings and beverages.

Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and younger. Tickets are available at the door. The event will also feature a gift basket silent auction.

L’Arche to host spaghetti supper

CLINTON — L’Arche Clinton will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.

The menu will include a plate of Rastrelli’s spaghetti with choice of sauce, tossed salad, bread, dessert and drink. The cost is $8 in advance or $9 at the door.

The event will take place at The Tuscany Center at Rastrelli’s, 2417 Cleveland St., Clinton. For more information and tickets, contact The L’Arche Office at 243-9035 or pick up at Clinton National Bank’s Main and Lyons branches and Clinton Printing Co. You may eat at Rastrelli’s or carry out.

Students named to dean’s list

MOUNT VERNON — Cornell College named 218 students to its Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester, including Benjamin Covey of Sterling, Illinois; Eric Medenblik of Fulton, Illinois; Christy Ralston of Sabula; and Kaci Yost of Long Grove.
