CLINTON — A man is being held in the Clinton County Jail on $500,000 bond after he was arrested on an Illinois drug warrant Sunday morning.
Todd Picha, 45, was arrested by Clinton police shortly after 8:30 a.m. on a warrant issued by the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office in Ottawa, Illinois, according to Clinton Police Department Investigations Commander Tom Bohle.
Clinton police reports indicate that police were called to the 200 block of 16th Place that morning for another incident. Picha was in a backyard in an area near that incident when police made contact with him and ran a records check. That's when they learned he was wanted on a warrant from the LaSalle County Sheriff's Office for unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.
Local police have confirmed that Picha is the same man who was involved in the 1993 eluding-related death of Clinton police officer Todd Stone. Picha was sentenced to five years in prison in May 1993 for vehicular homicide by eluding police.
