MAQUOKETA — A winter outdoor skills day will be Jan. 6 at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.

All ages are welcome to come and learn how to ice fish, snowshoe and identify animal tracks, and to learn fire-starting skills. Dress for the weather as all activities will take place outside.

This is a free event. Registration is required by Jan. 3. Call the conservation office at (563) 652-373 for more information or to register. The Hurstville Interpretive Center is located 1 mile north of Maquoketa on U.S. 61.
