Clinton police and fire crews performed a water rescue Monday night to retrieve an unidentified woman who allegedly jumped from the Iowa 136 bridge.
According to Police Sgt. Terry St. Ores, officers were dispatched at approximately 11 p.m. to the North bridge for reports of a possible jumper. When they arrived on scene, officers heard a woman calling from water.
The Clinton Fire Department was summoned to the scene at 11:19 p.m. Fire crews pulled her from the water and transported her to Mercy Medical Center for an evaluation. According to the fire department, she had not lost consciousness.
No further information is being released at this time.
