CLINTON — Alan Doyle is in the wedding and entertainment business, and he just filled a party store vacancy in town at 2458 Camanche Ave.

One Stop Party Shop, which currently has Halloween costumes, decorations/tricks and gags, etc., will eventually take in Christmas items in November. The store recently opened, but there is still more to come.

Next week, Doyle plans to have a retail photography space available. From a storage room, Doyle saw potential for a studio.

“We need a spot for our photographers to work,” Doyle told his landlord. Plus there was more storage space that could be utilized. Photography packages will soon be offered.

Costumes, according to Doyle, sell below common retail stores. Infant costumes start at $6 and the high-end bottom line is around $25 for adults. The costumes are purchased directly from the manufacturer, Rubie’s, which allows Doyle to sell his costumes for a bit cheaper, he said.

Having been in the entertainment business for nine years, Doyle saw a need for resold wedding decor and used event/wedding dresses. Inspiration sparked from those around him, while talking to a friend at a bridal expo he figured he could start a consignment shop — he already has a limo service, chair rental organization and DJ.

More recently, as his stepson’s date geared up for homecoming, she wanted a used dress, and had spent sometime looking around for one.

“So, I thought that could be good, too,” Doyle said.

The floors will soon be glossed with a speckled finish, and Doyle’s wife Melissa continues to bring color to the store. The upper level will be dedicated to wedding and used event dresses.

He said that it’s “wild” how the One Stop Party Shop came about, when it all started because he wanted to help people.
