MAQUOKETA — The Youth Philanthropy Board in Jackson County is accepting membership applications for the 2014-2015 school year.
PBnJ is the youth board under the Iowa State University Jackson County 4-H Extension office and the Community Foundation of Jackson County. The group is dedicated to using volunteerism, grantmaking and philanthropy to develop leadership skills, to act as positive youth role models and to improve Jackson County.
“PBnJ gives young people the opportunity to examine and identify the needs of their communities,” said Mary Jo Gothard, executive director of the Community Foundation of Jackson County. “Members get to experience fundraising and grantmaking firsthand —becoming active participants in improving the quality of life in Jackson County.”
Applications are available through guidance counselors at Maquoketa, Easton Valley, Bellevue and Marquette Catholic High Schools.
