CLINTON — Charges have been filed in an attempted burglary attempt at a Clinton restaurant.
The Clinton Police Department filed third-degree felony burglary charges today against Sandell Robinson, 27, of Clinton, and Charlie Johnson, 33, of Clinton, for their roles in an alleged burglary that took place Wednesday at Hillbilly Jack's in Clinton.
According to police, they were dispatched at 9:03 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a burglary in progress. Officers arrived and determined there were people inside who refused to exit the building. Members of the Gateway Area Hazardous Entry and Approach Team made entry and took custody of the two individuals.
Hillbilly Jack's will be closed for a week because of the incident.
On its Facebook page, Hillbilly Jack's in Clinton said it will close for approximately a week to assess damage and clean up from the break-in.
"We want to give a big shout out to all the police officers from all around the surrounding area that apprehended the two people that broke in tonight. Thank God for cameras and the brave police officers. We truly appreciate all you did. We will forever be grateful," the Hillbilly Jack's Facebook said.
