FULTON, Ill. — Venus Fest will be the second event in the Rockin’ the River 2015 summer concert series.
The performance will be held from noon to 6 p.m. May 16 at Heritage Canyon in Fulton.
This concert is dedicated to Breast Cancer awareness, and proceeds will go to Gilda’s Club in the Quad-Cities. The musical line-up consists of five girl bands or bands with girl lead singers.
The show starts with Quad-Cities native Jenny Lynn Stacy. Kendra Swanson, from Oregon, Illinois, will take the stage next, with her banjo, fiddle and viola, playing her all-original folk music. Next, The Matriarchs will hit the stage. This all-girl band has played two years in a row at Heritage Canyon.
Singer/songwriter Brooke Byam, a Clinton native, will be the fourth act. The final performer of the night is Chicago’s Pearls Mahone.
There will be food and drinks inside the park, and a shuttle bus will be provided from downtown Fulton. Participants may bring lawn chairs, blankets and small coolers.
