Richard E. ‘Dick’ Green

MAQUOKETA — Richard E. “Dick” Green passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2014, at his home in Maquoketa surrounded by his family.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from the Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa where a 7 p.m. scripture service will be held. Visitation will also be held 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound, Iowa.
Richard Edward Green was born on January 7, 1935 in Grand Mound, Iowa, to Elmer Albert and Rosemary Rita (Feldpausch) Green.
He grew up in Grand Mound and attended St. Joseph’s High School in DeWitt until 1953. He then served his country in the U.S. Army receiving an honorable discharge. He married Susan Jane Drury on February 23, 1963 in Grand Mound, Iowa.
Those left to honor Dick’s memory include his wife, Susan Green of Maquoketa, IA; children, Penny (Corey) Roeder of Dubuque, IA, Rick Green of Maquoketa, IA, Loren (Lisa) Green of State Center, IA, and Todd (Tracy) Green of Maquoketa, IA; a brother, Vernon Green of Bettendorf, IA; and 4 grandchildren, Clayton, Madelynn, Abigail and Morryah Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Leroy.
