CLINTON — Orville M. “Rick” Rickertsen, age 92, of Clinton, died Tuesday Dec. 31, 2013 at the Alverno Health Care Facility.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the St. John Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Orville was born on July 14, 1921 in Clinton, the son of Martin and Emma (Bielenberg) Rickertsen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1939.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Rose Knapp in 1946 in Clinton; she died in 1988.

He later married Margarette Kirby. Orville worked for the Allen Printing Co. as a typesetter and later for C.F. Industries as a fertilizer distributor. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer for the Laborers for Christ in Texas for many years.

Orville is survived by his three children, Leo (Christine) Rickertsen of Eagen, MN, Gail (Alan) Thompson of Clinton, and Carla (Rick) Kowzic of Clinton; five grandchildren, Sarah, Dane, Gabe, Amber, and Rhya; two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Cullen; and a sister, Pearl Cooper of Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
