SAN FRANCISCO — Alan R. Naftzger, 41, of San Francisco, and formerly of Erie, IL, died Sunday, March 16, 2014 at UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, CA.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, IL, preceded by visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. with the Rev. Father David Austin, Pastor: St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Hill Addition of the Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials have been established by the family.
Alan was born on February 15, 1973 in Morrison, IL to W. Rolland and Camilla A. (Green) Naftzger.
Alan was educated in the Fenton Grade School and was a 1991 graduate of Erie High School. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL.
Alan was employed by The Great Frame Up – Chicago, IL, FTD Floral – Chicago, IL and Direct TV – Chicago, IL. Most recently he was employed by Ancestry.com in Provo, UT and San Francisco, CA as Director of Retention Marketing.
Alan was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, IL
Alan enjoyed hiking and spending time with his dogs Chewie and Kona
Survivors include his fiancee Shana Strong; mother, Camilla Naftzger, Erie, IL; two sisters, Lisa (Joe Kang) Naftzger, Wilmette, IL, and Christine (Bill) Berge, Port Byron, IL; three brothers, Kevin Naftzger, Albany, IL; Steve (Susan) Naftzger, Erie, IL; and Keith (Tina) Naftzger, Albany, IL; eight nieces; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Rolland.
