CLINTON — Karen M. Voda, age 74, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her grandsons, Lionel Bassett, Antonio Bassett, Jamal Banks, Cody George, Blake George, Dominic George, Austin George and Trey Voda. Honorary casket bearers will be her granddaughters, Amber Banks, Samantha Voda and Madeline Voda; her great grandchildren, Elijah Banks and Madalyn George and the Clinton County Sheriff Deputies.

Karen was born in Clinton on September 2, 1939, the daughter of Harold P. and Karen E. (Lund) Loeffelholz. She graduated from Mt. St. Clare Academy in 1957 and had later attended the Police Academy Training School for Sheriff’s Deputies. Karen married Frank Voda, Jr. on February 17, 1962 at St. Patrick’s Church in Clinton. She was employed at L and L Music Studio for 25 years. She later worked at A.C. Nielsen, PFC and as a Correction Officer with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, retiring in 2004.

Karen was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Red Hat Ladies. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. She collected angels, liked playing BINGO, traveling and visiting the casino.

Karen is survived by her husband, Frank; three children, Dennis Joseph (Sarah) Voda of West Warick, RI, Tammy Marie (Allen) George of Clinton and Brian Anthony (Estella) Voda of Clinton; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Luann Daley of Clinton; two brothers, Alan (Elizabeth) Loeffelholz and Dale (Sheri) Loeffelholz both of Clinton and several nieces and nephews.
