CLINTON — Dr. Julian M. Burn Jr., 79, of Clinton, died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at his home.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday September 29, 2013 at the Fulton Chapel - Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Fulton Chapel and the Funeral Ceremony will be held at the Morrison Chapel.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Morrison Chapel - Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home with Mr. Rich Criss, Ministry Coordinator: Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, IL

Memorials can be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation.

Julian was born November 9, 1933 in Charleston, SC to Julian M. and Vera E. (Anderson) Burn.

Julian was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1952 graduate of Morrison High School – Morrison, IL. He attended St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. He graduated from the University of Illinois – Champaign, IL with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He then graduated from Northern Illinois University – DeKalb, IL with a Masters in Psychology. He received his PhD from the University of Oklahoma – Norman, OK in Clinical Psych-ology

He first married Wanda L. Dodd on December 21, 1962 in Champaign, IL. Wanda died July 18, 1983. He married Donna M. Sobers- Murdock on April 25, 1987 in Clinton. Donna died March 14, 2005.

Julian was veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Julian was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, IL and Charleston, South Carolina. He also helped establish the Clinton Mental Health Center – Clinton, IA in 1970.

Julian was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 363 – Clinton, IA and the Clinton AmVets. He was also a member of the American Psychological Association and the Marriage and Family Therapy Association.

He is survived by one daughter, Kimberly (T.J.) Head of Durant, IA; two sons, Ken (Karla) Burn of Morrison, IL and Paul (Sue) Burn of Clinton; six grandchildren Trevan, Morgan, Kollin and Dylan Burn; Shannon and Keagen Head; one sister, Marilyn Smith of Fulton, IL; and one brother, David (Heidi) Burn of Camanche, IA.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Wanda, second wife Donna, one granddaughter, Lindsay Burn and one brother, Berndt Burn.
