CLINTON — Patrick Michael “Pat” Sheridan, 68, of Clinton, died Thursday, April 10, 2014, at his home.
The funeral will be 10:30 AM Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fulton, Ill., with the Rev. Father David Austin, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Those attending are invited to wear their favorite Cubs or Irish theme apparel.
Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, Ill.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
He was born Feb. 13, 1946, in Clinton, to Dominic “Dom” and Eileen (Green) Sheridan. Pat was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a graduate of Fulton High School, Fulton. He attended Clinton Community College, Clinton, and was a graduate of National School of Meat Cutting, Toledo, Ohio.
He married Pamela Lois Gritten on June 12, 1976 in Fulton. She survives.
Pat was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Pat also served as jazz trumpet instructor for the 424th Army Band – El Paso, Texas.
He was first employed as a skilled certified meat cutter by the former Bud’s IGA Grocery Store, Fulton. Later he was hired by Chemplex Company, Clinton, and worked the first day of production at the plant. He retired July 2002 from Lyondell-Basell Company after 35 years.
Pat was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion Fulton Post 402 and the Fulton Country Club. Pat was also an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was an inspiration to those he supported.
Pat enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, boating, fishing, traveling to Ireland, Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada and every state in the U.S. He also enjoyed spending time with family and was an avid, die-hard Cubs fan.
