CLINTON — Catherine A. Snodgrass, 76, of Clinton, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus, Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Clinton Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Snodgrass Jr., Matt Snodgrass, Bob Nylin, Pat Clark, Travis Neff, and John Newsom. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Bell, Donivan Chambers, Clayton Spencer, Bill Nylin, Jr., Cory Nylin, Jeff Lage, Jason Lage, Brent Melvin, and Brian Melvin. Catherine Ann Melvin was born on April 22, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Glen and Norma (Barber) Melvin. She married Wilbur Snodgrass on April 27, 1957 in Camanche, Iowa; he died January 3, 1999.

Catherine was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clinton Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, taking trips and playing bingo.

Catherine is survived by six daughters: Patty (Niles) Davis of Clinton, Donna (Dave) Schocker of Clinton, Kaydon Turner of Clinton, Cathy Smith of Fulton, Missouri, Tammie (Kevin) Chambers of Clinton, and Gayla Snodgrass of Clinton; four sons: Bill (Lisa) Melvin of Fulton, Illinois, Wilbur “Tim” Snodgrass of Clinton, Richard (Jolene) Snodgrass of Clinton, and Ted (Lora) Snodgrass of Clinton; 33 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; four brothers: Lawrence (Marlene) Melvin of Clinton, Bob (Lucy) Melvin of Clinton, Burt (Louise) Melvin of Clinton, and Glen (Theresa) Melvin of Clinton.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, and one brother.
