HOUSTON — Jon S. Rajcevich, age 52, of Houston, TX, formerly of Clinton, IA, died Sunday Sept. 15, 2013 at the Odyssey Hospice House in Houston, with his family by his side.
A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held Saturday, Sept. 28th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Cremation rites have been accorded. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Jon was born on Oct. 5, 1960 in Clinton, IA, the son of John and Barbara (Green) Rajcevich. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1979 and served in the US Army. Jon earned his under-graduate degrees in Aviation Administration from Indiana State University in 1987 and post-graduation began his career with Continental Airlines.
Jon was passionate about flying and spent his career doing what he loved as a pilot with Continental Airlines, where he earned his 25-year certificate of service. He loved football, boating and spending time with his family and friends. Jon will be remembered for his sense of humor and larger-than-life personality.
He is survived by his sister, Cindy (Mike) Elsberry of Clinton; two nieces, Angie (Allan) Lubben and Mandy (Steve) Carter; and a nephew, Greg Shores; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
