MORRISON, Ill. – Mickey Joe Hahn, 63 of Morrison died Monday December 2, 2013 at Morrison Community Hospital.

He was born on April 16, 1950 in Sterling, the son of Leonard and Mary (Miller) Hahn and was a 1968 graduate of Sterling High School. He served in the US Army during the VietNam War. He married Barbara J. Leach on June 9, 1972 in Sterling. He was employed at the former R.B. & W. and later Reliant Fastner in Rock Falls. For the past 10 years he worked at Rocktenn Co in Clinton, IA. He had served as a Morrison Little League Coach for many years and was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal’s fan and a Chicago Bears fan.

Surviving is his wife, Barb of Morrison; his daughter Christeen E. (Frank) Thayer Jr. of Sterling; his mother, Mary Hahn of Morrison; his sister Sandy (Bill) Blevins of Sterling and 3 granddaughters:Brennah Zuidema, Emily and Allison Thayer.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 5, 2013 from 5-8 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue in Sterling. Memorials services will follow on Friday at 10 AM at the funeral home, with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
