CLINTON — Delma Mantle, 98, of Clinton, Iowa passed away on December 31st, 2012. At Delma’s request there was no visitation with a private burial taking place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Delma was born July 9th, 1914 in Worland, Missouri the daughter of George and Mary Alpha (Deaton) Scrogham. She was united in marriage to Luther E. Mantle on January 17th, 1933 in Brownington, Missouri. Luther passed away on March 21st, 1987.
Delma was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Clinton.
She retired in 1979 from the Housekeeping Department of Jane Lamb Hospital.
Delma is survived by her three children - Eva (Charles) Ladehoff, Raymond (Margaret) Mantle, Elisabeth Kightlinger; six grandchildren - Paula Ladehoff, Nancy (Eric) Olson, David Ladehoff, Sherri Mantle, Jeff (Cheryl) Kightlinger, Stacy (Doug Johnson) Kightlinger; ten great grandchildren - Brach, Kaitlin, Everett, Lauren, Kaleigh, Christian, Keegan (Syrina) Mantle, Kati (Jacob) Villa, Zachary, Kaya; two great-great grandchildren - Kaylah and Ethan; one sister - Veldeane Stull of Hermiston, OR. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters - Audrey, Madalyn, Delane and Elberta; two brothers - Glyn and Delbert; two granddaughters - Terri and Kelly.
