MORRISON, Ill. — Floyd M. Haas, 87, of Morrison, IL, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL, with the Rev. Bob Burton, Pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL. The Morrison chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Church, American Stroke Association, American Cancer Society.

Floyd was born on July 20, 1926 in Massbach, IL to Elmer L. and Carrie C. (Albrecht) Haas.

Floyd was educated in the rural Jo Daviess County Grade Schools and was a 1944 graduate of Mt. Carroll High School, Mt. Carroll, IL.

He married Evelyn H. Biermann on February 4, 1951 in Clinton, IA.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Floyd started farming in the rural Massbach, IL area. After moving to Clinton, IA, Floyd worked for E.I. DuPont. When he moved to Morrison, Floyd engaged in farming along with his wife, Evelyn. He also served as the Clyde Township Road Commissioner and worked for General Electric Company in Morrison, IL while farming full time.

Floyd was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church, Morrison, IL where he was a member of the church council. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Clinton, IA, the National Farmers Organization, and Whiteside County Farm Bureau. He also served on the Clystic School Board- rural Morrison, IL. Floyd, along with Evelyn, volunteered at the Morrison Food Pantry.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Lynn Dykstra, Morrison, IL; three sons, Dave Haas, Clinton, IA, Bill (Midge) Haas, Stillman Valley, IL, and Jim (Holly) Haas, Muskego, WI; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Haas; and two brothers, Warren Lavere and Leland Haas.
