CLINTON — Mary Margaret Juist, 87, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at Mercy North, Clinton.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Sean, Luke and Norbie Juist, Tyson and Adam Bramley, Ben and Jacob Lehmkuhl and Kyle Juist.
Mary was born May 10, 1925, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harold M. and Margaret J. (Engler) Beecher. She was a 1942 St. Mary’s High School graduate. Mary Beecher married Robert W. Juist on June 26, 1948, in Clinton; he died July 31, 1994.
Mary had been a homemaker. She had also been employed at the Schick Hospital, worked for Judge Sutton and for Carroll Johnson.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of card clubs and was an avid bridge player. Mary was an avid sports fan, especially for her beloved Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Nancy) Juist of Clinton; David Juist (Annie Fabio) of Houston, TX; Maureen (Steve) Bramley of Kansas City, MO; Margie (David) Lehmkuhl of Clinton and Norbert (Kim) Juist of West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and her sister.
