FULTON, Ill. — Carol Ann Wingett, 78, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronald D. Lott, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Clinton, IA, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, Clinton, IA.
Carol was born June 20, 1935 in Fulton, IL to Harry and Kate (Stuit) Hoogheem. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and a 1954 graduate of Fulton High School.
She first married Larry Fredricks in 1958 in Morrison, IL. She then married Gerald B. “Jerry” Wingett on July 1, 1972, in Rockton, IL; he died July 4, 2009.
Carol worked at the Woolworth Store in Clinton, IA right after high school. She was then employed by Wahl Clipper in Sterling, IL. She retired in 1993 after 29 years of employment from General Electric Company in Morrison, IL.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton, IA. She was a member of the GEM Club. She was a member of three different camping groups. Carol enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include one daughter, Terri Fredricks, LeRoy, IL; one son, Barry Fredricks, Fulton, IL; one step-daughter, Jennetta Williams, Solon, IA; two step-sons, Leonard “Butch” Wingett, Des Moines, IA, and Matt Wingett, Cedar Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian (Art) VanZuiden, Camanche, IA, and Joyce (Leon) Ottens, Morrison, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry; one stepson Michael Wingett; and one brother, Arnie Hoogheem.
