FULTON, Ill. — Mitchell Lee Tiesman, 72, of Fulton, died Friday, June 27, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton.
The funeral will be 10:30 AM Monday, June 30, 2014 at the First Reformed Church, Fulton, with the Rev. Edie Lenz, pastor of First Reformed Church, Fulton, officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 PM Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to First Reformed Church and the Robert Fulton Community Center, Fulton.
He was born Oct. 6, 1941 in Clinton to Mitchell and Elva L. (Koser) Tiesman. Mitch was educated in the Fulton Christian Grade School, Fulton, and was a 1959 graduate of Fulton High School, Fulton. He married Ruth A. Deelsynder on March 2, 1963 in Stephenville, Newfoundland.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mitch was employed for 10 years by the former Central Steel and Tube Company in Camanche. He then was employed by Lamson and Sessions for 33 years retiring for in 2011. Most recently he was employed by the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home and volunteered at the Robert Fulton Community Center.
He was a member of First Reformed Church. He was president and member of the Mississippi Rock River Bowling Association and Secretary of the Cattail Bowling League. Mitch enjoyed bowling and fishing. He was an avid stock car racing fan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Todd Tiesman of Fulton; three sisters, Phyllis (Arlyn) Dykhuizen of Sterling, Ill., Linda (James) Dykstra of Morrison, Ill., and Bonnie Drake of Glendale, Ariz.; and a brother, Doug (Kathy) Tiesman of Brooklyn Park, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Tiesman.
