MORRISON, Ill. — Oct. 24, 1914 - Nov. 10, 2012

Christine went to be with the Lord on November 10, 2012. She passed away at home under the loving care of her daughter, Judy; grandson Michael Keller, and Hospice Care.

Christine was born on a farm outside Fulton, Il. on October 24, 1914. She was the first child of Jennie and Dick Bielema. Her brother Paul was born in January, 1918. Following the death of Dick Bielema from the influenza epidemic of 1918 the family moved from Spring Valley into Fulton.

Christine married Gerald D. Renkes on June 30, 1934. They resided in Morrison until 1975 when they relocated to Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Following Gerald’s death in January of 1988, Christine moved back to Morrison. She later remarried Gould Specht.

Christine is survived by her two children: Arlyn Renkes (Linda) of Fredericksburg, VA. and their three children Scott and Steve Renkes and Sharon Caldwell: and her daughter Judy Renkes of Morrison and her three children, Michael and Jeffrey Keller, and Diana Keller Brandt. Christine was also blest with 14 great-grandchildren and her loving sister-in-law, Dorothy Bielema Nelson of Morrison.

Christine was interned at a private family service on November 14, 2012. A Memorial Service celebrating Christine’s life will be held on Friday, November 30, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, at the United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to visit with the immediate family at a luncheon following the service in Heritage Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
