---- — PRESTON/MILES — Adeline Edith Kintner, age 94, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Alverno Nursing Home, Clinton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday April 26, 2013, at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery, Miles, Iowa.
Adeline was born August 17, 1918, in rural Preston, Iowa, the daughter of August and Edith (Lingle) Klemme. She attended the rural school and worked for a short time before she married her husband, Carl. He passed away in 2004.
Adeline was a homemaker most of her life. She loved to laugh and at one time had a new joke to play on you whenever the chance arose. She and her husband did a lot of camping and liked to travel. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was always ready to help out.
Adeline is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Otto) Bruhn of Clinton, Iowa; a son, Ronald (Diane) Kintner of Bettendorf, Iowa; four grandchildren, Brenda (Eric) Schreiber, Jodie (Jeff) Atkinson, Michael (Amy) Kintner and Matthew (Emilie) Kintner; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Pickett of Preston.
Adeline was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Margaret Taplin; and three brothers, Wilbur, Albert and Robert.
