SPRAGUEVILLE — Orville Bormann, 73, of Spragueville, Iowa died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Family and friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, where a vigil service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Maquoketa.
Orville L. Bormann was born January 7, 1940 in Preston, Iowa to Jacob and Genevieve (Roling) Bormann. On November 18, 1961 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Hingtgen.
He farmed all his life until 1995 when he retired. He was a member of Preston Knights of Columbus. Orville loved woodworking, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, going to sporting events, and word search puzzles. He helped with Springbrook Fire Department Fundraisers.
Orville is survived by his wife, four children; Keith (Sherri) Bormann of Preston, Jodi (Mike) Thola of Maquoketa, Doug (Kim) Bormann of Preston, Steve (Melissa) Bormann of Maquoketa, seven grandchildren, his father-in-law Al Hingtgen of Maquoketa, three sisters; Joan (Jack) Smithers of West Liberty, Beatrice (Jack) Gavin of Maquoketa, Gladys Tebbe of Dubuque, and one brother Eugene (Janice) Bormann of Preston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law Al Tebbe Jr. in September 2011.
