SENECA, S.C. — Barbara Jean Junge Robinson, 83, formerly of Clinton, Iowa, died August 15, 2013 in Alpharetta, GA. A service celebrating her life will be held Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, SC. Church services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, at University Lutheran Church, Clemson, SC.
Mrs. Robinson was the widow of Dr. Vernon Lee Robinson, formerly a professor at Clemson University and a field scientist at the US Forest Service. She is survived by her son Michael David Robinson and daughter-in-law Sally Creadick, of Watkinsville, GA; son Mark Alan Robinson, of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter Verlynn Robinson and partner Kathy Dugas, of Roswell, GA; and her sister Marilyn Snyder of Columbia, SC. Mrs. Robinson is also survived by four grandchildren, Matthew Dale Robinson, Jared Scott Robinson, Avery Brian Robinson, and Justin Ryan Robinson.
Mrs. Robinson attended The University of Iowa, and Mount Saint Claire College. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Mrs. Robinson was a teacher in the Calamus Public School System in Calamus, IA. She worked as a bookkeeper at Flowerland, Athens, GA and The University of Georgia Bookstore also in Athens.
Mrs. Robinson married Vernon Lee Robinson on July 7, 1951. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 7, 2001.
