CAMANCHE — LeRoy C. Goddard, 90, of Camanche, Iowa, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton.

Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Camanche. Visitation will be held at the Camanche Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, April 28, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche, where full military honors will be conducted. Pallbearers will be Chris Norris, Scott McKenzie, Tom Wolf, Tony Cozzolino, Tim Bohr and Brady Sachsenmaier.

LeRoy was born July 21, 1922 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Leland and Irene (Elliott) Goddard. He was a WWII United States Air Corps veteran. He married Doris Lee Tramell on July 10, 1943 in Rolla, MO; she preceded him in death on October 6, 2001.

LeRoy co-owned and established Goddard’s Town and Country Furniture in 1957.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was an active volunteer with Mercy Auxiliary for 12 years and was active in the Camanche Historical Society. He was an avid boater and pool player. He also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises.

Survivors include his children, Susan (Robert) Richeson of Camanche; Jeanne McKenzie of Camanche and Robert Goddard of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Chris Norris, Kelly (Tim) Norris Bohr, Anne (Blake) Scanlon, Scott (Brandi) McKenzie, Abby (Tony) Cozzolino, Sue McKenzie and Malley McKenzie; ten great grandchildren; sister, Wilma Bell of Clinton; his dear family friend, Tom Wolf and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Tom McKenzie, brother, Howard Goddard and sister, Thelma Blumer.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Camanche or to Mercy Auxiliary.
