MORRISON, Ill. — Beulah V. Milnes, age 94, of Morrison, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Beulah was born July 3, 1918 in Albany the daughter of Jesse and Mabel (Shook) Naftzger. She married Walter Milnes on February 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1999.
Beulah was a teacher at three rural schools for many years. She and her husband dairy farmed all their lives. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and showing produce and baked goods at the fair. Most of all, Beulah’s family was very important to her.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda of San Francisco, Calif. and Diane (Paul) Glispie of LeClaire, Iowa; one son, Tom (Penny) Milnes of Morrison; one sister, Leola Naftzger of Albany; one brother, Wes (Judy) Naftzger of Albany; five grandchildren, John Glispie, Tina (Ryan) Boothe, Scott Milnes, Bryan (Brittany) Milnes and Shaun Milnes; three great grandchildren, Morrigan Glispie, Paige Milnes, and Cara Boothe; and many nieces and nephews who were important to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Lois Foster; four brothers, Warren Naftzger, Harlan Naftzger, Russell Naftzger, and Lyle Naftzger.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Avenue, Fulton. Graveside services will be Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison with Pastor Dalmus Meeks officiating.
