---- — Dean Brian Dahlin

July 7, 1957 - June 16, 2013

LE CLAIRE — Dean Brian Dahlin, 55, of Le Claire, Iowa. A very loving husband to Cheri, Father to Erin Richelle and Dexter Brian, and Papa to Griffin Dean, Addison Grace, and Caleb Andrew went to be with our Lord Father God in heaven on June 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with AML Leukemia, Dean is resting in his father’s loving arms today.

Dean was born July 7, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa to Donna (Ockert) and Darrel Dahlin. He lived in Davenport, Iowa as a small child later moving to Clinton, Iowa and graduating from Clinton High School in 1976. Dean has resided in Le Claire, Iowa for the past 20 years with his wife and family. Visitation will be prior to the Memorial Service which will be held at The Vineyard Church of Davenport, IA, located at 2402 W. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, IA 52806 on Friday June 21st, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with the Memorial Service immediately following at 6:00 p.m.

He grew up as an All American red headed, beautiful little boy. After high school Dean joined the Service for a short time. When Dean returned home he began his career as a truck driver, most recently working for Standard Forwarding, LLC and retiring in the summer of 2012 to fight his battle against Leukemia.

He met Cheri in 1979 and they married in 1984. They have two children, Erin Richelle and Dexter Brian. Dean’s grandchildren were the highlight of his life with wife Cheri. Fishing and skipping rocks was one of Dean’s all time favorites with grandson Griffin Dean. Dean also loved reading and having tea parties with Granddaughter Addison Grace. He loved playing catch with grandson Caleb Andrew and his dog Teddi. Dean took such joy in his grandchildren’s lives and will forever watch on from heaven above.

Dean was very much into street rods and motorcycling. He and Cheri had started traveling yearly and enjoyed life so fully, leaving Cheri with such special memories to hold onto and cherish. They truly lived life together as soul mates.

Dean was a member of The Vineyard Church. He volunteered in the Sunday school preschool room and this would leave such a smile on his face after being with the little ones. The Vineyard Church was Dean’s family as he was part of a life group within the church. Dean found his belonging through the Vineyard Church and families there. His love was overwhelming.

Those that are left to honor him are his wife Cheri (Zimmerman), daughter Erin (Damien) Koehn of Mc Causland, son Dexter (Keri) of Le Claire, Iowa, his parents Darrel and Donna Dahlin of Princeton, Iowa, brother Douglas Dahlin of Davenport, Iowa, and sister Dyannae (Tim) Ruser of Princeton, Iowa, a very special Mother-in-Law, Ruby Carter, Clinton, Iowa, and a friend that was like a daughter, Kerri Shook of Davenport, Iowa, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Dean is preceded in death by a brother, David, and both sets of grandparents. His family will miss him immensely but knows he is in Gods Paradise.

In lieu of plants and flowers a fund has been set up in the name of Dean’s Fight that donations can be made to at Deere Harvester Credit Union, 5354 Elmore Circle, Davenport, IA.
