PRINCETON, Iowa — Robert Swanson, 66, of Princeton, Iowa passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Archer, Kenny Hoggard, Bill Fitzgerald, Jake Turner, David Turner, and Bre Turner.
Robert was born October 25, 1946 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Robert F. and Helen A. (Mohr) Swanson. He was a Clinton High School Graduate. Robert was a Vietnam Navy veteran, serving with the Seabees.
He was employed with the Chicago & North Western Railroad as a switchman for over 23 years.
Survivors include his children, Dr. Robin Swanson (Kenny Hoggard) of Princeton, IA; Robert (Tori) Swanson of Clinton, IA; Barbara (Jerry) Archer of Bettendorf, IA, and Chris (Julie) Swanson of Davenport, IA; five grandchildren, Meredith, Caleb, Maya, Molly, and Elsie; and one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Clinton, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Gary Johnson.
