SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — Grace Dakota Kostka, 11, of South Beloit, IL, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI.
She was born March 27, 2002 in Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, IL, the daughter of Charles M. Kostka Jr. and Valerie J. (Dame) Ayala. Grace was baptized on September 3, 2006 in Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. She was a 6th grader at Blackhawk Elementary School, South Beloit, IL.
Grace was high spirited and so compassionate. Her dedication for art and strength throughout her disease was inspiring to everyone she met.
Survivors include her mother, Valerie Ayala of South Beloit, IL; father, Charles (Mandi Whitener) Kostka of South Beloit, IL; brother, Miguel Ayala; sister, Lillian Kostka; maternal grandmother, Clarice (Dennis) Dunnegan of DeKalb, IL; paternal grandmother, Karen (Michael) Phelan of Rockford, IL; great paternal grandmother, Donna Kostka of Isanti, MN; uncles and aunts, Phillip (Heather) Dame, Nathan Dunnegan, Natalie Dunnegan, Christine Marlow and Colin Phelan; numerous cousins and her dogs, Belle and Lucy.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Gary Dame, paternal grandfather, Charles Kostka Sr. and maternal great grandmother, Meta Lange.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 in Central Christian Church, 2460 Milwaukee Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Thomas Engelbrecht from Amazing Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI.
Memorials may be given in her name to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
