CLINTON — Bernard C. “Bernie” Koehler, age 82, of Clinton, died Saturday Jan. 25, 2014 at Mercy North Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1st, at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chuck, Steve, Dairus, Randy, Dewight, Mike and Bruce Koehler, and Bud Abbott. Family and friends are invited to share condolences online at www.papefh.com.
Bernie was born on March 21, 1931 in Winona, MN, the son of Alvin and Hannah (Henderson) Koehler. He married Joyce Hundt on April 15, 1950 in Winona, MN.
He worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Winona, MN for over 33 years, before moving to Clinton. He owned and operated the Canyon Creek Golf Course in Clinton for over 27 years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, welding, and was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Joyce Koehler of Clinton; three children, Sharon Koehler of Clinton, Larry Koehler of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Everett Koehler of Clinton; five grandchildren, Heather, Jessie, Danielle, Jarrod, and Waylon; nine great-grandchildren, Autumn, Breanna, Hunter, Taylor, Callie, Aubry, Ty, Carson, and Julian; and a sister, Shirley (Dale) Mahlman of Greenfield, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gary, granddaughter, Andrea, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
