CLINTON — Helen “Louise” Scott, 94, formally of Clinton, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Louise lived in Clinton for 58 years before moving to Seattle to be close to her daughter Sandy and her family. For the last year, Louise has resided at Keystone Cedars in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 3:00pm, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Taylor, Ryan Scott, David Darnell, Doug Freking, Sam Rhatigan, Rick Bull. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to the service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Helen Louise Woodworth was born on March 28, 1919 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Chesney (Klein) Woodworth. She married William “Bill” Herbert Scott on March 2, 1943 in Watonga, Oklahoma; he passed away on June 8, 1993.

Louise graduated from high school in Kansas City, Missouri; and completed nurses training at St Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City.

Louise was a homemaker and active in church as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member and chairman of Naomi Circle, a Deacon, and an Elder of the Session at the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Iowa. Louise was active in PTA at Longfellow School and an Agatha volunteer at Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. She enjoyed working with ceramics and made many items that she shared with family members.

Louise is survived by her son: Gary Scott of Marion, Iowa, one daughter: Sandy (Randy) Coggeshall of Woodinville, Washington, a son-in-law: Tom Taylor of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Louise will be deeply missed by many friends and relatives. She was a very compassionate, loving, caring person that taught by example and touched many lives. Her Christian beliefs were her foundation that was reflected in the lives of her children and grandchildren and the love that she portrayed to others.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter: Barbara on June 5, 2011, one brother, and one sister.
