ANDOVER — Joyce C. Krogmann, 82, of Andover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Bickford Cottage, Clinton.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21st, at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Visitation will be held Tuesday 4 – 8 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home and Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until the service at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her six grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her three granddaughters. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran, Mercy Hospice, or to the family. Joyce was born September 21, 1930 to Raymond and Gladys (Gradert) Ronnfeldt in Clinton, Iowa. She was a 1948 graduate of Miles High School. After graduation she worked as a secretary at Ray Dodge Motor in Clinton. On October 27, 1949, she married Raymond Krogmann at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. She and Ray farmed west of Andover for over 50 years.
Joyce was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Andover and served as church secretary for 40 years. She also was a Sunday School teacher, served on church council and was a member of Hope Circle. Over the years, Joyce served at the voting polls for numerous elections. She wrote local news articles for submission to the Clinton Herald and submitted birthdays and anniversaries to the local radio stations.
Joyce was a member of Mercy Auxiliary where she gave 7,000 hours of volunteer service in the snack bar, gift shop, and crocheting newborn baby hats. After moving to Prairie Hills Assisted Living, she continued to crochet baby hats and lap afghans for the Hospital and Benevolent Society.
Joyce loved playing cards, dancing, crocheting and giving to others, but most of all, she loved her family. She enjoyed raising her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She babysat, went to sporting events, concerts, dance and baton competitions. She never tired of it.
Joyce is survived by her six children, Randall (Marcia) Krogmann, of Clinton, Jane Krogmann of Des Moines, June Krogmann of Arlington Heights, IL, Russell (Jodie) Krogmann of Clinton, Richard (Kathy) Krogmann of DeWitt, and Jill Krogmann of Queen Creek, AZ; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one sister, Jenean Eickert of Miles, and one brother, Louis (Patricia) Ronnfeldt of Camanche.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, one brother, Leon, and two great grandchildren, Heidi and Heather.
