FULTON, Ill. — Stella Cantrell, 97, of Fulton, IL, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.
There will be no services. Interment will be at the Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. The Fulton chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Stella was born April 18, 1916, in Fulton, IL, to George and Martha (Podkonyak) Krickovich.
Stella attended Fulton grade schools and graduated from Fulton High School.
She married Pete Hite. She later married Charles U. Cantrell on February 11, 1970 in Fulton, IL; he died September 24, 2005.
She was first employed by Swifts & Company in Clinton and then later for the former Clinton Garment Factory. She also farmed with her husband Pete for many years.
Stella was active in a quilting league.
Stella enjoyed quilting, fishing, gardening, and flowers. She also loved to travel with her husband Charles.
Survivors include two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Pete; second husband Charles; four sisters, Ann Nelson, Della Vonack, Mary Krickovich, Sophie Johnson; and five brothers, Sam, Dan, Pete, Nick, and Eli Krickovich.
