FULTON, Ill. — Dianna G. Van Kampen, 70, of Fulton, died unexpectedly Monday, October 28, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.
Born June 5, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, she was a daughter of Guy and Christina (Hagen) Cronk. She was united in marriage to Lee Roy Van Kampen, Sr. on April 23, 1987 in Morrison.
Dianna was a hostess at Applebee’s in Clinton and formerly worked at Payless Shoes and Taco John’s. Dianna enjoyed shopping, sitting by her swimming pool, bowling, cooking, going for car rides and doing various word puzzles. She adored her children and grandchildren and no one ever left her home without a hug, be it family or friend.
Surviving are her husband, Lee Roy Van Kampen, Sr. of Fulton; her daughters, Dee Dee (Steve) Phillips of Camanche, Iowa, Barbara “Sissy” (Gary) Engelkens of Fulton, Melissa “Tess” Van Kampen of Fulton and Shania Van Kampen of Fulton; her sons, Joseph A. (Renee) Edens of Savanna and Lee Roy (Tracy) Van Kampen, Jr. of Fulton; two sisters, Gloria (Charles) Smith of Clinton, Iowa and Delores Elder of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Melvin (Helma) Cronk of Clinton, Iowa; her grandchildren, Billy Kaster, Robert Edens, Steven (Stephanie) Phillips, Katelynn Engelkens, Angus Engelkens, Ma Kai Hart, Aisha Van Kampen, Michayla Martin, Keegan Van Kampen, Corbin Van Kampen, Alyssa Van Kampen, Jacob Oldaker, Michael (Nikki) Tucker, Kiel Tucker; and 2 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Miranda.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Margaret and Frona, and two brothers, Leroy and Harold.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 1st at the McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton. Cremation rites will follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. To send a condolence visit www.mcdonaldfuneralhomes.com.
