April is Community College month and we here at the Clinton Community College Business & Industry Center are proud of our community and our contribution to it!

The Clinton Community College Business & Industry Center supports the economic future and vitality of our area manufacturers, businesses and industry by providing business services and workforce training. No company is too big and no company is too small.

We are here to meet our community’s needs.

Today’s business arena is a fast-paced, highly competitive world. Markets are changing, customers are demanding higher quality standards, and technology continues to advance at record speeds. In order to compete in today’s marketplace, business and industry must keep up with the changes. At the Clinton Community College Business and Industry Center, we understand the demands they face.

Whether a business is large or small, established or new, we have the ability to provide business services and training resources specifically designed to meet each company’s individual needs. So far this fiscal year, we have provided training and services to more than 100 area businesses and more than 1,500 of their employees.

Ready, Set, Launch! Clinton Community College Business & Industry Center, the Eastern Iowa Small Business Development Center and the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce are partnering together to energize and support prospective entrepreneurs in our community.

“Start-Up Clinton” is coming this September. This strategic partnership of training, consulting, and support is designed to encourage and promote entrepreneurs as they move their dreams to reality. We will continue to build on this partnership and are excited about its unlimited possibilities.

Many of our community members also need to keep up with the changes in today’s economy. We are also actively involved in reskilling our area workforce and filling this need. Two new programs have begun over the past few months and more will follow. The very first Clinton Community College Truck Driving classes are currently being held at the Clinton Community College Tech Center.

Our first Certified Logistics Technician class has just completed with students earning nationally recognized certification from the Manufactured Skills Standards Council.

The Eastern Iowa Community College Reskilling Tuition Assistance Programs offer a variety of career reskilling programs that can be completed in less than a year. We are committed to serving this vital area.

Join us on Friday, April 26, for “CCC Connects”, a showcase of the offerings at Clinton Community College. Program demonstrations, meet the faculty, information sessions and tours will be available from 3 to 6 p.m. at the CCC Technology Center, 1951 Manufacturing Drive and the main campus at 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton.

By staying connected to our community, we feel connected to our students and those we serve. In so doing, we hope our community feels that same connection with us.
