It’s the time of year when the United Way campaign raises funds to address the needs of many people in our area (Clinton County).

The recent challenging economic conditions have clearly increased the needs of those in our area, but as you might expect, the funds contributed to the UWCCI have remained about the same.

We are not serving many of the increased numbers of individuals and families with immediate, critical needs.  The UWCCI focuses heavily on assuring that resources provided to programs achieve identified outcomes, moving people forward through lasting changes.

We recognize that funds provided represent a sacrifice by those who contribute, and as an agency, we take the responsibility to invest those funds wisely very seriously.

In recent years, we have seen remarkable generosity as people have stepped up to share their resources with those affected by earthquakes and tsunamis in far-away places.

That’s great to see.

We also need to care for those closer to home whose needs are very pressing.

United Way makes change possible by amplifying the power of the individual and allowing us to all be a part of something greater. When we are a part of the greater good, good things happen. When one of us wins, we all win.

The United Way of Clinton County Iowa  is creating real, lasting change where we live by focusing on the building blocks of a better life: Education, Income, and Health.

We come from different places. We come to different conclusions. But underneath it all, we share a passion for improving the quality of life in our communities.

I doubt that there are many in our area who haven’t been touched, or don’t have a family member who has benefited from the many programs offered through United Way funds.

They’re a big part of what makes our community great.

The theme of the United Way is “Live United.”

Personally, I believe that the UWCCI makes a tremendous difference in improving the quality of life in our community. Please unite with us in this very worthy cause by giving generously when asked.

We appreciate your support.
