Periodically, YWCA members, staff and volunteers are featured highlighting the many facets of our community in which they’re a part. This month, YWCA Health & Wellness Director Stephanie Sommers shares information on upcoming changes to YWCA Fitness.

What is your motivation for working out?

Do you make your workout a priority when you plan your day? We at YWCA Clinton know that it’s hard to prioritize a workout that you’re not excited about, so we’re about to change all that with plans to make your experience at YWCA Clinton even better.

In my opinion, one of the best parts about the fitness industry is that it is always changing. This means new, fun and more effective classes are always coming out. Keeping current with new trends helps our members stay engaged, never bored! As the Health & Wellness Director at YWCA Clinton, I work hard to always keep our members motivated and on track to reach their wellness goals. And now I’m excited to announce that we’ll be adding Les Mills fitness classes to our line up to ensure boredom is never a problem here.

YWCA Clinton has a long history of going the extra mile to help members achieve their goals. In addition to our cardio room, fitness center and pool, we also currently offer 50 different fitness classes each week tailored to a variety of fitness levels. But we know that isn’t enough, and we want to take it to the next level with exciting new programming from Les Mills.

Les Mills is a leader in the fitness industry. With an almost 40-year proven track record, Les Mills classes are a blend of great music and cutting-edge science. Les Mills classes ensure that your workout will yield amazing health benefits and the results you want while keeping you motivated and engaged. Every step and every move have specific purposes as to how they will transform your muscles, so you’re sure to see results. Les Mills has been changing lives for years, and we are bringing it to YWCA Clinton so it can change yours.

It’s going to be an exciting January at YWCA Clinton, and I hope you’ll be a part of it! And did you know, our fitness memberships help fuel our mission-focused work like our Rapid Rehousing and Homelessness Prevention Programs here at the YWCA, so you can enjoy a healthier you and a healthier community?

Stay tuned for more details on class offers, new equipment coming to the YWCA and info on all the Les Mills classes starting in January. Check out our website, ywcaclinton.org, or follow us on Facebook at YWCAClinton and Twitter @YWCAClintonIowa.
