Our school district is a source of pride for our community.

Our three new and one soon to be built schools are an example of our progressiveness as a community. But in my opinion we are lacking in one major area that presents a view to neighboring communities that we are not progressive, that area is our athletic facilities.

I have had the great pleasure of having a child participate in the Clinton High School athletic program. It has given me the opportunity to witness firsthand the facilities of the other schools in the Mississippi Athletic Conference. We are woefully behind in many sports.

I would encourage everyone to support the upcoming Physical Plant and Equipment Levy vote. This is a tool we can use to upgrade our facilities and be able to compete with communities like Burlington and Muscatine, literally on the field. Vote yes.
